Show & Go: Parramatta Could Win The Comp, Even If The ’80s Players Don’t Want Them Too

I have a theory, and I’ve said it for a while.

I don’t think the 80’s boys don’t want this current crop to win. Because it takes away from their glory years.

One loss or one indifferent performance, and those guys come out and bag them. I genuinely think there’s so much jealousy there that they don’t want these guys to win.

But, that doesn’t matter. They’ve won 9 from the last 10 and I like Parra this year – in particular, the work of Mitch Moses.

In that last start win over the Warriors, that was the best 40-60 minutes I’ve probably ever seen Mitch play.

He’s so fast too – people don’t realise how quick Mitch is.

He bounces around, extremely skilful and when you watch him play, he reminds me a lot of Sam Tomkins.

He’s rangy without being tall, skips across field and he’s got that quick fend too. But he’s playing with more control now than ever before and that’s the X-factor for him.

There are obviously two clear favourites in Melbourne and Penrith this year, but Parra could easily get hot and off the back of Moses, jag a win against either of those sides this year.

In saying that they can swing the other way too which, if you’re a Parra fan, can be frustrating.

They’ve always had that in their DNA where they can beat the best and lose to the worst in any given two weeks.

But I love how they’re playing at the moment and regardless of the old school players possibly not wanting them too, they could mess around and win the comp this year.
