Scope: So Much Talent In The Game, Here’s My Under-21 Squad Of The Young Kings Playing Right Now

  1. Daine Laurie (21) – After playing three games for Penrith in 2020, Laurie made the switch to Tigers and been one of their best every week.
  2. Xavier Coates (20) – X debuted in ’19. Represented his state & will only get better at the Storm next year.
  3. Bradman Best (19) – Only a kid but built like a seasoned first grader. Few niggling injuries and form of the Knights only thing slowing him down.
  4. Stephen Crichton (20) – Member of the Blues squad last year and will feature at some point in the 21 series.
  5. Jason Saab (20) – 6’6, 100kg winger who could be the fastest player in the comp. Kid’s gonna score a heap this year.
  6. Dylan Brown (20) – Notched up 40 games already. Integral part of an impressive Eels spine & would have played for the Kiwis if not for covid last year.
  7. Sam Walker (18) – Boy wonder has lit the NRL up in only 8 games. Roosters won’t be letting him go anytime soon.
  8. Payne Haas (21) – Represented his country & State already. Arguably the most damaging prop in the game right away.
  9. Matt Burton (21) – Obviously not a hooker but the most versatile of the rest of the names above. I just wanted to find a way to fit in all the big names.
  10. Tino Fa’asuamaleaui (21) – Everyone knows I’m a massive fan of baby snack. Titans & Qld pack are set for years to come with him and his partner coming up next.
  11. David Fifita Jnr (21) – Goes without saying. Probably the hardest player in the comp to tackle 1 on 1 right now.
  12. Jordan Riki (21) – Still a bit green but has all the makings of a long term kiwi back rower. Was outstanding in the Maori All stars this year.
  13. Josh Schuster (20) – Ball playing back-rower who is making it look easy of late. No lookers of doom. Will only get better as he gets more seasoned and his body matures.
  14. Reece Walsh (18) – Really wanted to find a spot in the starting team for the kid. By year’s end if I re-do the team, I probably will.
  15. Moeaki Fotuaika (21) – One of the more underrated players in the comp. Love this guy. A big reason I was so high on Titans and more so there pack.
  16. Thomas Flagler (21) – Hard working. No nonsense prop. Forms been inconsistent like Bronx but think he is a nice building block for the future.
  17. Charlie Staines (20) – Really wanted to find a spot for Frank Grimes in the back line but he gives us cover for all 5 positions in the back line. He’s pretty silky and could probably even play 6.
  18. Joseph Suaalii (17) – The exception to the rule. Played his first game on the weekend and handled himself nicely. Will be one of the best in the game by the time he turns 20. Put that in ink!
